Web Development Manager

DoodleWeb is a digital studio that designs, builds, and maintains high-performance websites on Drupal, WordPress, Webflow, and Shopify for universities, government organizations, and growing companies. We also run SiteSonar, our AI visibility platform, which keeps client sites discoverable as buyers move between Google and AI assistants like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini. We're hiring a Web Development Manager to lead delivery: the person who keeps builds on track, keeps quality high, and keeps clients informed. You'll report to the founders and work daily with designers, developers, content specialists, and our project management team. A visible, active LinkedIn presence is required for this role since you'll represent DoodleWeb publicly alongside the founders.

• Lead web development projects end to end, from technical kickoff through launch and handoff to support

• Manage timelines, priorities, and resourcing across multiple concurrent builds

• Coordinate developers, designers, content specialists, and client stakeholders so nobody is waiting on an unanswered question

• Run status updates and requirements sessions directly with clients

• Supervise front-end and back-end implementation across Drupal, WordPress, Webflow, and Shopify

• Review code for quality, performance, security, and maintainability

• Contribute to technical architecture decisions and content modeling

• Troubleshoot complex issues, including migrations, integrations, and hosting problems

• Improve our processes, tooling, and documentation so the next project starts faster than the last

• Hold builds to accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA), SEO, and Core Web Vitals standards

• Mentor developers and set coding and review standards for a distributed team

• Maintain an active LinkedIn presence: share project learnings, engage with the web and CMS community, and support recruiting

• Based in the US or Canada and able to work overlapping PST business hours

• An active, professional LinkedIn profile with a real network and recent activity

• 5+ years in web development with at least 2 years leading or managing a development team

• Strong front-end skills: modern HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design

• Hands-on experience across at least two of Drupal, WordPress, Webflow, and Shopify

• Experience building and maintaining web applications with attention to performance, security, and scalability

• Solid version control and collaborative coding practices (Git, branching, code review)

• Demonstrated project management: planning, prioritizing, and shipping multiple projects on schedule

• Experience leading a remote or distributed team

• Strong written and verbal communication with clients and cross-functional teams

• Familiarity with accessibility standards, SEO best practices, and analytics tools

• Experience with Acquia, WP Engine, Pantheon, or Cloudflare

• Higher education, government, or enterprise project experience

• Headless or decoupled CMS architecture experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience
