Drupal Certified Partner for Chicago nonprofits

Drupal websites for Chicago nonprofits

Chicago nonprofits serve neighborhoods, cultural audiences and national causes from one city. We build accessible WordPress and Drupal sites that turn visitors into donors, volunteers and participants.

Many Chicago organizations run programs across several neighborhoods and languages. We plan multilingual content, location pages and event listings so families can find the program nearest to them.

• Location and program finders for neighborhood services
• Multilingual content that staff can maintain
• Donation and volunteer forms connected to your CRM

When Drupal is the right choice for a nonprofit

Drupal earns its place when a nonprofit has more structure than a simple site can hold. If your site is small and your team is lean, WordPress is usually better value, and we build both.

• Chapters, affiliates or regional programs that need their own pages under one brand.
• A large research, policy or resource library that visitors filter and search.
• Multilingual content, which Drupal supports in core.
• Different teams that need different permissions and an approval workflow.
• Membership tiers, gated content or deep CRM integration.

Accessibility rules Chicago nonprofits work under

The Department of Justice says the ADA requires organizations open to the public to make their web content accessible, and programs that receive federal funding also fall under Section 504.

Illinois IITAA covers public universities. The Illinois Information Technology Accessibility Act requires state agencies and public universities to meet WCAG 2.1 AA under the IITAA 2.1 Standards, effective June 24, 2024. It does not directly apply to community colleges or private institutions, which still answer to the ADA and Section 504.

We build every Drupal template to WCAG 2.2 AA, the current W3C recommendation, which includes every WCAG 2.1 AA criterion. This is general information, not legal advice.

Still on Drupal 7?

Drupal 7 reached end of life on January 5, 2025. The community no longer provides security updates, which matters for any site that collects donor or participant data.

We audit each module, decide what to keep, replace or drop, and migrate to Drupal 11 or WordPress in phases. The donation path moves first, URLs are redirected and every template is rebuilt to WCAG 2.2 AA.
