What is the Drupal AI Initiative?
The Drupal AI Initiative is the official community program coordinating how artificial intelligence comes to Drupal. Founding partners lead its Innovation and Product Development work streams, covering the AI module ecosystem, provider integrations, and the standards that keep AI features safe and maintainable. It is funded through the AI Partners model, where member agencies fund dedicated contributors.
Who funds and builds the Drupal AI Initiative?
The initiative is funded through the AI Partners program, with Founding, Gold, and Silver tiers. Partners go beyond financial support: each commits dedicated staff to advance key areas of the initiative, and together the partners have pledged more than 30 full-time staff to advancing Drupal AI. The stated goal is to build on Drupal's position as the best open-source AI-powered CMS.
What does Silver membership mean?
Silver is a membership tier of the Drupal AI Initiative. Members fund the initiative's development work, contribute dedicated staff, and are listed on the official partners page at new.drupal.org/ai/partners. DoodleWeb's listing and badge are verified on our Drupal.org organization profile.
How does DoodleWeb contribute to Drupal AI?
We are a Silver member of the initiative, and our engineers work with the AI module ecosystem on real client platforms. Our delivery teams use an AI-orchestration framework internally, with senior engineers reviewing and approving every step, and we feed what we learn back into the community.
What AI features can you build into my Drupal site?
Common builds include AI-assisted content drafting and summarization for editors, semantic search, automated tagging and taxonomy suggestions, chat interfaces over your content, and translation workflows. Everything is scoped to your governance and accessibility requirements first.
Is AI safe for government, higher ed, and healthcare sites?
Yes, when it is engineered with guardrails. We keep protected data out of prompts, use provider configurations you control, log and review AI output, and keep a human approval step in editorial workflows. Accessibility and Section 508 requirements apply to AI features exactly as they do to the rest of the build.
Where can I follow the initiative's work?
The initiative publishes its strategy, documentation, and an open issue queue on Drupal.org, along with webinars, events, and a newsletter. We link all of these from this page so you can follow the work directly from the source.
How do we start a Drupal AI project with DoodleWeb?
Book a 30-minute call or send your project details through the contact form. We review your site and goals, then come back with a fixed scope: what AI features make sense, what they cost, and what we would skip.
