We work with every budget. Four pricing bands cover the range we ship: brochure sites under $10K, marketing sites, CMS rebuilds, and enterprise platforms. Each band lists what is included, what is excluded, and what typical scoped projects actually cost so you can self-qualify before the first call. Need it faster or leaner? We also ship AI-assisted builds as a Lovable partner.

why publish this

No sales games

You should be able to tell in five minutes whether we are inside your budget. That saves your team hours and ours.

fixed fee

One number, one SOW

Every engagement is a fixed-fee statement of work with milestones, deliverables, and acceptance criteria. Hourly is reserved for retainers.

senior team

No offshore handoff

Prices reflect a US-based senior team. No junior body-shops, no undisclosed subcontracting, no surprise pass-throughs.

platform notes

Complexity, not brand, sets the number.

The same 40 page site costs about the same on WordPress or Webflow. What actually moves the price is: number of template types, integrations, content migration hours, and governance depth (roles, workflows, translations, VPAT).

Pick the platform after discovery, not before. We do not have a preferred vendor we push you toward.

WordPress

Fastest to launch. Best for marketing, editorial, and small commerce. Great editor experience.

Drupal 10 / 11

Best for higher-ed, government, healthcare, and multi-site. Strong governance, permissions, and translation.

Webflow

Best for marketing sites that need designer control and no server ops. Not ideal above ~200 pages.

Shopify / Shopify Plus

Best for commerce. Ships fast, integrates with everything, and scales cleanly.

Headless (Next.js, TanStack Start)

Best when the site is a product surface, needs edge rendering, or fronts multiple back ends.

not included

What is excluded and why.

These are pass-through costs owned by you, not marked up by us. We help you pick, procure, and configure them, but the invoices go to your finance team, not ours.

Third-party SaaS subscriptions (WordPress VIP, Acquia, Webflow, Shopify Plus, HubSpot, Contentful, Algolia, Mux, Cloudinary, ElasticSearch)

Paid integrations and API usage (Salesforce, Slate, Ellucian, Twilio, SendGrid, Mapbox, Stripe processing fees)

Licensed fonts, stock photography, and premium plugin licenses

DNS, hosting, CDN, SSL, and email deliverability services beyond initial setup

Ongoing content writing, translation, video production, and photography

Advertising spend, paid search, and paid social budgets

Legal review of privacy policy, terms, cookie consent, and accessibility statements

discovery to signed SOW

How the quoting and payment workflow runs.

A predictable, four-step path from first call to signed SOW to launch. No surprise invoices, no undocumented change orders.

1

Discovery call (30 to 45 minutes)

A working session with a strategist and a lead engineer. We cover business goals, users, current pain, must-have integrations, content volume, timeline, and budget range. You leave with a rough platform recommendation, a scope shape, and a ballpark band, not a sales pitch.

2

Fixed-fee SOW in 48 hours

Within two business days you receive a written statement of work: platform, scope by phase, deliverables, acceptance criteria, timeline with milestones, assumptions, exclusions, change-order policy, and total fixed fee. No mystery hourly.

3

Milestone payment schedule

Standard schedule is 30 percent to start, 40 percent at design or staging sign-off, 20 percent at UAT, and 10 percent at launch. Enterprise engagements are split across four to six milestones with net-30 invoicing. All amounts are fixed at SOW signing.

4

Change orders, in writing

Scope changes are handled with a short change order that lists the new work, price, timeline impact, and updated acceptance criteria. Nothing is billed as a surprise. Small clarifications inside the original scope are always free.

discovery call agenda

  • Business goals, target users, and success metrics
  • Current stack, pain points, and what must be preserved
  • Content volume, template types, and integrations
  • Timeline, launch constraints, and internal decision path
  • Budget band, accessibility posture, and governance needs

what the SOW contains

  • Platform recommendation with rationale
  • Scope by phase with deliverables and acceptance criteria
  • Fixed total fee and milestone payment schedule
  • Timeline with named DoodleWeb owners on each milestone
  • Assumptions, exclusions, and written change-order policy

pricing FAQ

Common pricing questions.

Do you work with small budgets under $10K?

Yes. Our brochure band starts at around $4K and tops out near $9K for a 3 to 8 page site on WordPress, Webflow, or an AI-assisted build. As a Lovable partner we can compress simple sites into two to four weeks without cutting accessibility, SEO, or QA. If your scope grows past a brochure site, we move you into the marketing band with a fresh fixed-fee SOW.

Can you build with AI tools like Lovable?

Yes. DoodleWeb is a Lovable partner. For brochure and marketing sites we can start from an AI-assisted draft, then hand-finish design, accessibility, SEO, and integrations so the final site meets the same WCAG 2.2 AA and technical SEO baseline as our fully custom builds. AI compresses the timeline; it does not replace senior engineering review.

Do you actually quote fixed fees, or is this hourly with a cap?

Fixed fees. Every SOW lists the total price, the milestones that unlock invoices, and the acceptance criteria for each one. Hourly is only used for retainers and ongoing support after launch.

How accurate is the 48 hour quote?

For projects under $80K the fixed-fee SOW after a single discovery call is typically within 5 percent of final. For enterprise builds over $80K we deliver a written scope shape and budget range in 48 hours, then a fixed-fee SOW within 5 to 10 business days after a paid discovery sprint.

What if we do not know which CMS we need?

That is what the discovery call is for. We ship on WordPress, Drupal, Shopify, Webflow, BigCommerce, and headless React. The recommendation comes out of your team size, content volume, integrations, governance, and budget, not a preferred vendor kickback.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. The standard schedule is 30 percent on SOW signing. For enterprise engagements the deposit is 20 to 25 percent with the remainder split across milestone invoices on net-30.

What happens if scope changes mid-build?

You get a written change order before any additional work starts. It lists the new deliverable, its fixed price, the timeline impact, and updated acceptance criteria. You approve it, or you do not. Clarifications inside the original scope are always free.

Do these prices include accessibility?

Every build ships with WCAG 2.2 Level AA as the baseline. A formal VPAT 2.5 (ACR), full manual assistive-tech audit, and remediation of a legacy site are priced separately. See /accessibility for detail.
