The short answer
A HubSpot Gold Solutions Partner is an agency HubSpot has vetted on revenue, client retention, and certification depth — gold is the third tier after platinum and diamond, but it's the first tier where you can reasonably assume the agency ships HubSpot work week in and week out, not just refers leads. A real Gold-tier engagement covers four things: CRM setup and migration, CMS development on HubSpot CMS Hub, lifecycle and marketing automation, and reporting that ties pipeline to source.
If a vendor is "HubSpot Partner" but you can't find them at ecosystem.hubspot.com, they're a free-tier referral partner, not a delivery partner. That's a different category.
What gold-tier actually means
HubSpot's Solutions Partner Program has four tiers: partner, gold, platinum, diamond, plus elite. Tier is calculated on a rolling basis from sold and managed MRR. Gold means the agency has:
- Cleared HubSpot's revenue threshold for the trailing period
- Maintained client retention above the program floor
- Holds the certifications HubSpot requires for inbound, CMS, sales hub, and service hub work
- Has shipped enough live integrations and migrations to be visible inside HubSpot's partner manager view
It does not mean the agency is automatically the right partner for your stack. Tier is necessary, not sufficient. The questions below are the sufficient part.
What a real HubSpot engagement covers
The four work streams a Gold Solutions Partner should ship:
- CRM setup or migration. Object model design (contacts, companies, deals, custom objects), pipeline configuration, deal stages, lead routing, lifecycle stage mapping, data migration from Salesforce / Pipedrive / spreadsheet, and dedupe.
- CMS Hub development. Theme and module dev in HubL, custom templates, multi-language sites, member-only content, and HubDB-backed dynamic pages (think product catalogs, location finders, research libraries).
- Marketing automation and lifecycle. Workflows, lead scoring, nurture sequences, lifecycle stage transitions, and the email program — built to match your real sales motion, not a template.
- Reporting and attribution. Dashboards tied to revenue, not vanity metrics. UTM hygiene, source tracking, sales velocity, MQL-to-SQL conversion, and campaign ROI. Ideally a Looker Studio or HubSpot-native dashboard the team actually opens.
Bonus, when in scope: Sales Hub or Service Hub configuration, ABM tooling, sequences, conversational intelligence, and CMS-to-CRM personalization.
What a HubSpot engagement costs in 2026
Honest ranges from a US-based Gold or higher partner:
- CRM setup or audit + cleanup: $8K–$25K, 3–6 weeks.
- Salesforce → HubSpot migration (or vice-versa) with object mapping, integrations, and team training: $25K–$90K, 6–12 weeks.
- HubSpot CMS Hub website build (mid-market, 20–60 pages): $40K–$120K, 10–16 weeks.
- Marketing automation + lifecycle program build: $15K–$60K, 6–10 weeks.
- Ongoing HubSpot retainer (admin, workflow updates, reporting, list hygiene, content ops): $4K–$15K/month.
Anything materially below this is usually offshore admin labor or a "set up the trial and walk away" deal.
Five questions to vet a HubSpot Gold Solutions Partner
- "Show me your partner directory listing." Should resolve at
ecosystem.hubspot.com/marketplace/solutions/<their-name>. If it doesn't load, they are not a Solutions Partner. - "Show me a HubSpot CMS Hub theme you shipped, not just the marketing site." CMS Hub work separates real delivery from referral partners.
- "What's your process for cleaning a messy CRM before adding more automation?" Right answer involves a data audit, dedupe pass, lifecycle stage backfill, and source attribution fix — not "let's add another workflow."
- "How do you handle the Salesforce ↔ HubSpot integration?" Real answer names the sync direction, the field mapping doc, the rollback plan, and how you'll handle the inevitable "why are these two records different" support tickets.
- "Who owns the HubSpot subscription on day 31 — us or you?" The answer should be: you, always. A partner who insists on holding the contract is a flag.
Red flags
- "We're a HubSpot partner" with no public ecosystem URL.
- Quotes a CMS Hub build for under $20K. The platform's templates are good; the production-grade theme work isn't cheap.
- No certification badges visible on their site (Inbound, CMS Hub, Sales Hub, Service Hub, Marketing Hub).
- Refuses to ship inside your HubSpot portal and instead delivers a "design file" handover.
- Pitches HubSpot for a use case it isn't strong at (heavy custom-object ERP-style data) without honestly flagging the tradeoff.
How DoodleWeb runs HubSpot engagements
DoodleWeb is a HubSpot Gold Solutions Partner, a Drupal Association Certified Partner, and an Acquia Community Partner. We run HubSpot work as integrated CRM + CMS + lifecycle engagements rather than three disconnected SOWs, with a fixed-fee 2-week discovery sprint so you can see the proposed object model, workflow map, and CMS architecture before committing to the build.
Every HubSpot engagement is verified on Clutch (5.0★) and ships with a 30-day post-launch SLA.
Book a 30-minute HubSpot teardown — bring your portal access and we'll walk through what to clean up, automate, and report on before you spend another dollar on tools.
